99. Magik Markers - Boss (2007)
Although heavily indebted to Sonic Youth (Lee Ranaldo produced this album), Magik Markers thrilled and filled a hole left by SY's increasing lack of new ideas throughout the decade. This was largely down to Elisa Ambroglio's, Patty Smith refractedthru Lydia Lunch refractedthru Kim Gordon paranormal freak rock goddess witchery. Channeling deranged poetry against feedback jams, Boss was the motherlode, focusing all those CD-R's into something like a statement of intent, albeit for those unable to make clear statements and who have no intentions.
This list includes albums, singles, joint entries, and basically anything i feel like doing in the interests of storytelling or representing my taste and the decade.I intend to post each entry one at a time in reverse order, whenever i can. This may well take us into next decade.Enjoy!
