100. Devin the Dude - To Tha X-Treme (2004)

Out of Houston, Texas from the Rap-a-Lot label. Devin combined his bluesy sing-rap over J-Prince's soulful, stoned and G-funky production. In an era of over confident, greedy rappers (Jay, Fiddy, Clipse), you had to look dirty south for the truth. Devin combined everyman storytelling (She's Gone, Cooter Brown), with comedy (What?), Snoop style sex raps (Come on and Come), stoner raps (Right Now, Go fight some other crime), and some genuinely affecting emotion (Briarpatch, Anythang).
Unfortunately The Dude's underdog persona, has followed his career, so despite critical aclaim this album failed to sell and in 2008 he was dropped from Rap-a-Lot. A shame as Devin is a rare case of a rapper that appears grounded and likable, whilst also having soulful songs that could appeal to a mainstream*.

* Devin didn't help his mainstream popularity, by including several songs about his cock in the follow up album!
