Pole is German electronic producer Stefan Betke, and so the story goes, he dropped a Waldorf 4-Pole filter and amazed by the ensuing glitches, clicks and pops the filter made, not only created his 1,2,3 album triptych based on the sound, but also chose Pole as his moniker. Along with Basic Channel, Pole created a dub electronica with the tools of techno. Pole's music is immersive with endless tiny detail whilst somehow remaining minimal and functional. Time is suspended and spaces are opened within Poles expansive and addictive dub universe.
Pole 3 is now best heard as part of the 2009 CD reissue of Pole 1,2 & 3. Three hours can easily slip away in the techno dub hole.
